Julian Blecking


Professional Experience

Julian is an associate with Kinney & Lange. He primarily focuses his practice on patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications and conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate studies.

Julian received his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School. During law school, Julian worked as a judicial intern for Justice Rebecca Bradley on the Supreme Court of Wisconsin and as a law clerk at ABC for Health, a public interest law firm providing legal services related to public benefits. At the University of Wisconsin Law School, Julian served as vice president for the Technology Law Student Association, as treasurer for the Government Law Society, and as a Note & Comment editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal. Julian’s note on Nuclear Energy Law in France and Germany was published by the Wisconsin International Law Journal in 2024.

Julian holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While completing his degree, Julian worked as a manufacturing engineering intern at Astronautics Corporation of America, where he was able to further his passions for both software and aerospace by supporting the production of avionics equipment. Julian also developed his interest in the interaction between national and international legal systems during this time thanks to a study abroad opportunity at the United Nations. He is a member of both Phi Beta Kappa and of Pi Sigma Alpha, a political science honors society.
